Privacy Policy

Your answers. Your responses to our question flow — general information about your property, your insurance situation, and life changes you choose to share. You control how much you share; every question can be answered without providing documents.

Policy documents or text (optional). If you upload or paste policy text, it is processed to generate your report and is not retained afterward. We do not build a library of user policies.

Email address. Collected only to deliver your report to you.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe — we never see or store it. We receive only confirmation that payment succeeded and a transaction reference.

Usage data. Like most websites, we use analytics (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, general location, device type, and similar technical data collected via cookies. This helps us improve the product and is never combined with your report answers to market to you. We record anonymous usage events, such as which pages and scenes are viewed and whether a report purchase is started or completed, to improve the site. These events do not include your answers, your policy document, your email, or your IP address.

Error logs. If something breaks while you use the site, we record the technical error message, the page address, and your browser type so we can fix it. No name, email, answers, or documents are included.

We use your information only to: generate your personalized educational report; deliver your report by email; process your payment; maintain quality and compliance of report content; operate, secure, and improve the site; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information to sell you insurance, to sell or rent to insurance companies or agents, to generate sales leads, or to send marketing emails you did not sign up for.

Policy documents and pasted policy text: not retained after your report is generated.

Generated reports and your answers: not stored by CoverageDecoder. Once your report is shown to you, we keep only three non-identifying facts for analytics: property type, state, and whether a document was used. A copy of the emailed report exists with our email provider, Resend, for a limited period under its retention policy, and in your own inbox.

Email addresses: not stored by CoverageDecoder. Your report is emailed to the address you enter at checkout. That address is held by Stripe as part of the payment record and passed to Resend to send the report, where it is held under Resend's retention policy.

Terms acceptance: when you check the agreement box, we record the time, the Terms version, and a random session identifier as evidence that the Terms were accepted. No name or email address is attached to this record.

Payment records: retained by Stripe and in our transaction records as required for accounting and legal compliance.

Because we do not store your report or answers, there is nothing for us to delete after your report is generated. To request deletion of an emailed copy held by our email provider, email support@coveragedecoder.com and we will ask Resend to delete it.

Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. We honor these requests for all users regardless of state: email support@coveragedecoder.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
